Not “there” yet
Dear friends and fans of “Almost There,”
First off, we want to thank the literally dozens of you who took time over the busy holiday season to personally write and/or call WCBE 90.5 fm with your support for our show. We were overwhelmed by the positive response, and the large number of fans on Facebook we received in matter of a few short weeks.
We would also like to thank our sponsors: Alana’s Food and Wine, Roots Records, Rumba Cafe, Promowest, Lucky Penny Farms, the Elvis-a-Thon & Jeff Eaton and Bristol Bar. Some of these fine businesses and a few others have expressed their willingness to provide continuing support if and when we find a home on the airwaves.
But, as the name implies, we are still not yet “there” as a regular show on the air. WCBE has offered to allow us to do “specialty programs” in the future on holidays. The next show would air on Memorial Day. At this time, we have been told that there is no room in the schedule for a new weekly show.
Apologies to those of you looking forward to hearing us regularly. Producing these shows during the holidays was a trial by fire and we learned a lot in the process, both technically and creatively. We feel strongly that we have a viable product with willing sponsors that is ready for weekly rotation. We hope you will bear with us and stay tuned to this web site for updates as we try and figure out the best way to get “there.”
Thanks again,
Dan & Tracy

“Almost There” premieres on Thanksgiving Day!
Hey folks,
Tune in to WCBE 90.5 FM at 2 p.m. this Thanksgiving Day, November 26 for the first installment of Dan Dougan’s new radio show, “Almost There.” It’s a look back at some of the greatest music from the heydays of Stache’s and Little Brother’s, as well as a look at some of the music that woulda/coulda/shoulda been there today. Read more about it here.
WCBE will be looking for feedback on the show after it airs, so if you like what you hear, please consider emailing them at wcbe@wcbe.org to let them know. We’re hoping that if enough listeners like it, the station will consider giving it a regular slot.
If you’re traveling for the holiday, or don’t get chance to listen, look here for a podcast of the show after it airs.
There are also two more test shows scheduled to air on WCBE this Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, so stay tuned!
